Last Saturday January 19 and following the training and professional development plan for our teaching staff, two members of the SEN Department of GIAS attended the course of detection and guidance of students with high capabilities, gifted and talented in the Secondary Education stage. The course was done by Rosabel Rodríguez, graduate in Psychology, doctor in Psychopedagogy and speech therapist. Member of the Gifted and Talented Research Group. Co-author of the “Identification protocol for students of high intellectual abilities in schools”.
This training was very useful in corroborating the lines of action that are being carried out in GIAS in the field of individualized guidance of students. Teaching is important in order to make a good detection of the talent and abilities of each of our students and, subsequently, to track them accordingly and adapting the contents, programming and methodology to the specific needs of these students.
In brief, and through the School for Parents of GIAS, we will held a talk to deal with individual diversity more deeply and to share the experiences from the high capabilities, gifted and talented children to the ones with severe difficulties in the learning process.
