Last Thursday, September 24, Gresol International-American School welcomed the renowned international hacker, and founder of HackRocks, Enrique Serrano Aparicio, to give a masterclass to secondary and high school students on cybersecurity.
During the event, Serrano Aparicio, gave examples of how to use properly social networks, showing actions and prevention measures against hacking attacks.
In the masterclass, Serrano Aparicio wanted to show the virtues of hacking and its positive side, compared to the negative image that is usually associated with this profession, differentiating hackers from cybercriminals. Likewise, he wanted to emphasize the need for good cybersecurity at a personal and professional level. After the different explanations, the students were also able to witness some of Serrano Aparicio’s abilities, which left more than one speechless.
To scrupulously comply with all security measures, the presentation was carried out from the television set of Gresol International-American School. From there, Serrano Aparicio addressed the students in three blocks, one for each high school year and high school. It lasted about 50 minutes and completely in English. An original and enriching way to learn about such an interesting world that of cybersecurity.
Serrano Aparicio indicated that technology advances at breakneck speed, being the responsibility of each one to use it correctly and safely, knowing the responsibilities and consequences that it entails.
For Gresol International-American School, it was a pleasure to host an event like this and, after being well received, the school is considering about repeat the act the next term, as it considers that it is a great opportunity for young people to learn and train in other types of disciplines.
