Last Friday, February 15th we have been able to enjoy the II Musical Performances of our students that are part of the follow-up of the Musical Education Program in Gresol International-American School. The musical learning in our educational project is one of the basic pillars of the education of our students because, beyond the enrichment that it carries as a subject, music helps us every day to cultivate the values of the effort and self-discipline (with they are practicing), teamwork (when we are in the orchestra project or the choir), pure mathematics (at the time of reading a score or following the beat) and the maximum expression of the creativity when the own student “does” his music or a group of students, in the midday break join and play on their group of Combo.
Music is also a universal language and as such it is a very powerful communication tool that allows students from different countries, even without knowing their language, communicate through notes and songs, putting the international side of our project in value. In these performances we have seen students from G1 to G10 (from Primary 1 to ESO4), full of nerves and emotions, playing pieces from J.S. Bach’s studies and lessons to Shallow from Lady Gaga, through Henry Purcell, Caribbean Moonlight, Gipsy Fiddle, Beethoven Boogie, Havana Breeze or We are the Champions.
It has been a privilege to be able to attend each of the four areas for the performances and we also want to congratulate the students of G9 and G10 for their tasks of controlling the parking lot and for the welcome and guidance they have made to assist families. CONGRATULATIONS!
