Last Wednesday, May 29th, the 12th graders went to the History Museum of Catalonia in Port Olímpic, Barcelona. The goal of the outing was to review the contents for the university entrance exam. To make it more enjoyable, the guide divided us into groups, one group focused on Restoration and Bipartisanship, the other group focused on Dictatorship and the Democratic Transition.
Each group completed a part of the university entrance exam in a schematic way. Next, the groups explained their answer and their thinking behind it.
Later the students went to eat to Gracia, a neighborhood that we have studied due to their involvement in both the workers’ and unions’ struggle. After Plaza del Diamante, we were able to enter an anti-aircraft that has been renovated after being closed for many years.
Rubén, a historian member of the Gracia History Workshop and guide, gave us a very clarifying tour, he explained to us the horrific barbarism of the Italian bombing during the Civil War in Catalonia and how the Catalan families experienced these bombings.
